Dr. Chris Kroh, a University of North Georgia (91ÁÔÆæ) senior lecturer of Political Science and International Affairs, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

A graveside service is schedule for 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at Memorial Park Funeral Homes and Cemeteries, located at 2030 Memorial Park Road in Gainesville, Georgia.

Kroh joined 91ÁÔÆæ in 2015 as an instructor in the Department of Political Science and International Affairs. He was committed to his students and helping them achieve and thrive whether in the face-to-face or online environment.

He primarily taught online courses with an emphasis on the politics of European and other countries. Chris was promoted by 91ÁÔÆæ to senior lecturer in 2021 and was awarded 91ÁÔÆæ Online Instructor of the Year in 2018.

Chris earned his Ph.D. and Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Kansas and a Master of Arts from Kansas State University. He previously taught in Wisconsin and for various Kansas and Missouri community colleges and universities, including a University of Kansas study abroad program in Florence, Italy, and Paris, France. He completed his dissertation research in Brussels, Belgium, and Strasbourg, France.

A fan of sports and travel, he kept active and engaged with his hobbies and passions. He will be missed by his friends and colleagues in the department and by those students whom he had an impact on.
