Viewbook 2025: Albany Zavarce Transcript
Hi, my name is Albany Zavarce. I go to the Gainesville Campus, I'm doing a bachelor's degree in environmental spatial analysis and I'm a junior. On campus I'm involved in students for environmental awareness, and a tour guide. What I love about my major is I get to see a bunch of layers in the same place. When I get to do my maps, I get to find the data, which is hard, and I problem solve. So, I like the struggle to go and try and see if I can find a bunch of data so I can finish my project. Even tough I don't like AutoCAD, I feel like I have been starting to like it as the semester goes by because it's so hard. I just don't understand 2D.
But now that I get to do it pretty much every day, now I understand. And I feel like I like the feeling of like I I think it's a reward of working hard to like get something. And I love my major because I love the environment. I love to be outside and I think more people need to be aware of what is going on about climate change and stuff like that. I'd say my advice for upcoming students will be always ask questions always and even if you are not sure about raising your hand in class or like asking for help, I say just do it because at the end of the day, the professors are going to look for students that are doing the extra step and you want to be that student because you want to have all the help that you can get. So what comes next for me will be graduating from 91ÁÔÆæ with my bachelor's. I want to go ahead and get a master's degree. I'm still not 100% sure what I would like to do, but I know I want to get a master's degree.
